Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
The arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer in Madison in 2013 brought canopy street trees to the forefront of Madison residents’ attention. In 2013 we had about 21,70o ash trees on city terraces – thousands more in parks and on private property. Most of Madison’s ash trees will be removed. All terrace trees that are under high-voltage electrical power lines will be replaced with small, no-canopy trees – unless we do something. And that is our goal!
