Part of Winnebago Street is going to be rebuilt this year. The final reconstruction plan has not been chosen. Please support Option #2. One of two plans will be chosen for recommendation at the April 18, 2018 Board of Public Works meeting – the last committee meeting before this goes to the Common Council on May 1.

5:30 PM, Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Location is 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. City-County Building in Court Room 354, on the 3rd floor. The meeting starts at 4:30 pm but the public hearing / public comments start at 5:30 pm.

The most effective action is to attend the meeting and register in support of Option #2, agenda item 4. When you register you can also request to speak. You’ll get three minutes.

Option #2 will maximize the number and growing conditions for canopy street trees. Option #2 also reflects goals set in Madison’s Sustainability Plan such as multi-modal transportation, improving air quality and the quality of our lakes. In Dane County, transportation is one of the largest contributors to air pollution and global warming emissions and most transportation is in the form of single-occupancy vehicles. Supporting the growth of alternative transportation choices, such as buses, bicycles, carpooling, electric cars, etc. will significantly decrease emissions and improve the health of our community.

You can also email your support of Option #2 to all Board members.

Please choose Option #2 for the Winnebago St-Linden Ave Reconstruction project. I support more canopy street trees and improved multi-modal transportation. Thank you.
